I have a Franke "goose neck" bar-sink faucet. Lost set screw holding the goose-neck spout to the base .... are they all standard size? The spout pops out under water pressure. In Thailand now... no help here until I get back to US... I think model is discontinued.. 'tap diamante chrome'
any ideas to fix temporarily? ..can use cutter to turn wood screw into fla at the end? help please gary |

Why not just take spout to hardware store and find a set screw. Certainly it will be a standard size, just don't know whether it will be US standard or metric.

Even Franke in Bangkok said they would order from Italy... be here in December.
I've tried all the Home Depot, Lowes, "look-alikes".. They just don't have any parts, bins of nails, srews etc. I've taken it locally(200miles south of Bangkok).. but no help.... Thanks again for the suggestion |

Home Depot has set screws. They may not have the size you need but they have set screws. As the original source is Italy it will be metric.
The set screw for a faucet spout will be very small. Home Depot keeps small set screws in a cabinet in the hardware aisle. Ask for assistance. Since you have indicated that you are math and finance guru, I have to ask the following. Are you sure the set screw is missing? Are you sure that it is missing and not just loose? Pull spout off and look in the set screw hole. Do you see light. If not, the screw is still in there and just needs tightening. You will need a small Allen wrench to tighten it. |
