Fading interior cedar walls

We purchased a home in July that is beautiful and has cedar from floor to ceiling in every room except the living room. The home was built in the 70's and the previous owner had many pictures on the walls. When the pictures were taken down and she had moved out we noticed that that the spot where the pictures were was faded on the walls. Is there anyway to fix this without re-staining all of the walls?

Actually the spot where the picture was is probably the original colour. Cedar darkens with exposure to UV.
Don't know of any way other than staining to fix it.
