Drainage

I have started a drainage project for my sloping backyard. All the water dead ends at my deck and is rotting it away. Deverting the water away from the house is my goal.

Is it better to put a soil sleeve and gravel when trenching the pipes for the drainage? How hard is it to build up and level a yard?

If anything, possibly look at building higher Piers for the support beams for the deck, if that is what is rotting. If the deck base is even with the ground, that is another story. Pictures do help though.
