Door jamb with shearwall

Replacing all of my doors in my house (thanks Harvey), and I have standard 4 9/16" jams all around, except one door jamb has a shear wall. That door jam measures somewhere around 5-1/16 or 5-1/8.

My local lumber supply builds custom doors and they ordered me a 5-1/8 door. Should I have went with the smallest measurement of 5-1/16? Will 1/16 of an inch make a difference when it comes time to trim?

The jamb is standard 4-9/16 plus 1/2 for the shear wall.

Re: Door jamb with shearwall

Not going to matter, caulk will take care of that.
I would have just made jamb extensions and saved the money instead of making a custom door.

Cool. It was only $20 for a custom jamb size, so I figured if it saves me an hour of messing around with door extensions than its word the $20 lol
Mike Milam and Nealtw like this.
