Caulking stone to drywall

I have precast stone half columns that butt to drywall. The original caulk was done by the stone installers. This caulk is falling out. What caulk to i use and do i match color to stone or drywall?
Thank you.

First off is your work covered under warranty?

If the caulk is falling out its probably the wrong caulk. However you may want to co-ordinate your caulk with the stone for adhesion. As for colour thats your choice. My vote is try and get a paintable caulk and paint it the correct colour. Ask your rep. what caulk adheres well to stone and paint (your wall) and is paintable. Get some paint chits and try and match the paint to what your trying to match.

Are you going to be doing this yourself?

I'd reccomend grout but I have fears that if your house shifts that it may crack.

Just a Thought

In the tile flooring are of the big box stores they sell caulking in different colors for the different shades of grout. This caulk may be what you want as it is used for areas like where ceramic tile butts up to door jambs to fill in that gap yet have some flexibility.

A good painter's latex acrylic caulk should do the job.
You can paint right over it and get any color you want.

sika np-1 comes in colors so it doesn't need paint,,, most people grab up caulk which isn't the right mtl if there's movement/shrinkage,,, doubtful there's any backer rod in yours, either,,, pro const supply for both mtls
