Basement water leakage from I beam

Hey folks, new to the forum. Have a question about the water leakage in my basement around the I beam. Is it something I fix myself? Attaching a picture for more accurate spot.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

That will need some waterproofing from the outside, can you dig it up and wash the wall so can see what you have outside.

I guess I can but it'll not be easy...lol. Anyway to do it from inside? Also, how much am I looking at cost wise if I get this done through a contractor?

It has to be done on the outside. Mostly it is something to be painted on the outside and give the water a path away from the house.

Show us a picture of the that side of the house from the outside.

What part of the country do you live in? That will have a major impact on the price to have the work done for you.

Did you also check the plumbing? Fairly large drain pipes. Toilet above? Going up to a vent? Both may leak but not obvious from outside. The beam pocket was cut and packed with cement. That is a cold joint which can leak easily if water is coming in from outside.

That should only be about 12 inches below grade? Eight swipes with a shovel?

That seems like a lot of water through a crack at a beam pocket (repair in wall), is there some pooling outside or a slab sloped towards wall?

It looks to me like there was prior leakage, then somebody tried to patch with grout or similar around the beam, where it started leaking again.

Agreed, there's something strange going on outside, like either standing water against the house, or a patio that's pitched to the house, etc....
