What Do You Call This Bracket?

Not sure what this type of bracket is called. It's designed to be weight bearing and held in place by gravity, but so the upper piece can easily be removed when needed by lifting up. Thanks!

Where is it located in this picture? Shower, kitchen, garage? Is the picture upright or do we need to stand on our heads or twist sideways?

Re: What Do You Call This Bracket?

Sorry for the lack of details. The picture is right side up and this was the only picture I found of it. I'll see if I can dig up another. It is a piece of furniture, so what's at the top of the photo is a platform, think a table top, while the light wood piece is a support beam that would run to the ground as a table leg. The green round piece is affixed to the light wood leg, while the black bracket is connected to the table top. Essentially, it connects the too but allows you to just lift the table top off the legs when needed without undoing anything. I hope all that helps .

Re: What Do You Call This Bracket?

Probably a specialty piece, made exclusively by the furniture maker for this purpose.

Many furniture makers have their own engineering staff, that make their own types of fasteners, brackets, flanges, and other hardware.
