veranda stair removal

i want to remove the stairs and still leave the pad attached to the house. i want to put stairs on the front of the veranda instead. the area where the old stairs are is going to have a new pad to match the existing one with storage bellow for my green bin and garbage. will the existing pad remain intact or is it also held up by the stairs. the stairs are poured not preform.

Pictures would be nice. If your stairs are poured then you will probably have re-bar in bedded in them and will have to cut them as you use a demolition rotary hammer or back hoe to remove the steps from the veranda.
