Value of Furnace Oil and Scrap Metal?

When gutting our home, can I sell the furnace oil (450L) and scrap metals?

Metals would be octopus furnace, steel, tin, copper, oil tank.

What and who would be involved in selling the metal and oil?

Or should I just be happy someone will come and take everything out and away for free?

I am in the come and take it away camp. If I take it to the transfer station I have to pay to get rid of i. Can't be bothered with hassle of trying to sell. My time is worst more than I would ever collect

Consider yourself lucky if someone is willing to remove your tank and oil for free.

Here scrap metal is selling for about half what it was last year, $65 per ton. As such it is not worth the time to haul to yard. I put it on the curb for the metal scrappers.

scrap metal prices go up and down in relation to prices on commodities markets. Depending on what you have and how much you have you can look up current prices in your area if you are near a major metropolitan area.

In this area. People can sell the oil, and either make a few bucks on it. or use the money to dispose of the tank. Some people will come and take the tank for free, to use in their shop or house.
