I can't believe you can't see the stuck float! Better have those eyes checked!

I just made a few assumptions after reading the info given. I know how pumps are installed around here, & knew the tiny relief hole at the bottom only squirts like that continuously if the pump is stuck on.

ok guys, well been a week or so and pump been ok besides that the float got stuck up again today, i dont know why the float is staying up, but once i unplug it then plug it back in, it seems fine.

this is the pump i have

liberty pumps, model 257, 5.2 amps, 1/3 HP, 115 volts, 60 hz, date on it is 2007 may.

now i have no battery back up. I was thinking about replacing the pump because of the float getting stuck again. i was looking at libertypumps webpage and checking out the same pump. i know that the pump float gets stuck so why get the same one? well i figured it would be a easy replacement being that it has the same outlet and all.

what type do you recommend? how can i get the battery backup.

damn - that's NOT a zoeller in your pit ? ? ? never heard of your brand,,, we use zoeller ( mostly m53 1/3hp ),,, when you see the 12v dc's output & power range, you may change your mind,,, imn-s-hfo, zoeller makes the best bbu, too !

we buy from ferguson,,, don't forget ck valve replacement, too
