Subfloor with small dip

The floor of my house has now a noticeable small dip. I went into the crawl space to find the dip is where two subfloor panels are joined together using a 2x4 piece of wood between the joists. The 2x4 is not attached to the joists. My though is to jack up where the 2x4 is until the floor is level and then adding L brackets attaching the 2x4 to the joists. Will this work? Are there better options? TIA. -Pat
