Soffit Question

I have soffits that follow a pattern. Two solid rectangles, then one solid perforated rectangle.

I think the soffits sections come in the pattern of solid, perf, solid.

Are these installed hook and loop like siding is?

How hard is it to slide one section over to access the underside of the roof?

Is a special too needed?

I checked mine as I want to open them up to put holes in the plywood for attic venting, and without looking too deeply, it seems that it's just a couple screws, in my case squares, probably red screw driver. Not sure if they are glued too though, hopefully not!

Three weeks ago i "hung" about 45 foot (two solid one perforated pattern) and the stuff i used (homedpot or lowes) was simulare to the locking of siding.

Some where along the lines i seen older aluminum soffits and it was the same also.

Don't know if this is the standard or not.

Pretty sure you will have to take the gutter off and the fassia "wrap" off before you can get to the soffits. Maybe you can bend the wrap carefully depending on how much of an lip is bent over.

Info in this thread might be helpful.
