Shed playhouse question

Hi there,

Quick question. I am building a small playhouse that is 71" wide by 65" in length. I am planning on putting it on a deck platform with doubled up 2x8 beams with 2x8 joists 16 o.c. I laid out the 2 beam lengths at 71" which is the width of the 2 end gable walls. Well after measuring the one wall for some odd reason it came out to be 71 1/4", which means a small part of the bottom half of the wall is going to overhang the beam on which it rests. Not good. Can I simply add a 1x8 skirt board around the entire section? Any other suggestions?

#1 Why in the world would you be building this such odd ball sizes. Going to be a ton of wasted materials. Also one the child grows out of it you have a useless building.
#2 What do you mean by double up beams? Do you really mean rim joist?
The outside walls should be even with the rim joist and the sheathing needs to run past the rims by at least 1".

If I have another child then its there for them that is why. Its a flush beam so yes there acting as the rim joist. So, what do you suggest I do as far my previous post? Should I re-do the beam length (rim joist)?

That or just cut the bottom plates the same size as the platforms.

I meant to say re-cut the beams to match the length of the bottom plates?
