Moisture issues

Recently my garage was closed in and converted to a living room. The concrete floor of the garage was 21" below the finish floor of the house. The contractor sealed off the crawl space, he said "it was to keep the critters out". I live down south where humidity is always high and feel that there will become a moisture problem.
The contractor used const. Adhesive, cont. Metal flashing and shot down a treated 2x6, the flashing wraps upward to the sill to create a closed seal.
Will this become a problem or am i ok

Are you talking about the space beneath the new room (old garage), or your crawl space for the entire house? Pictures would be a big help.
