Joining two 6x6 porch posts together.

My friend bought a mobile home that has a 30x10 back deck with roof. The posts went from the ground to the roof. They sawed the posts off at the ground. The porch is now on a trailer and just needs put in position. I need to dig post holes and put roughly 3' 6x6s in the ground and attach them to the existing posts. I'm wondering how you all would recommend me attaching then together. Like a straight cut and angle some screws, notch the ends and screw together, or use a metal bracket of sorts. Thanks.

How far were they cut and how much do you have to go to marry them up?

Flat straps with HD galvanized nails on two sides like side and back should do it

Here is what I have. Just need to attach posts that are between 2 and 3 ft to them

I would pour 10" Sonotubes up to the highth you need and attach wood to the concrete.

Or just cut them off flush with the bottom of the deck and install new

I like post #5, but post #3 might be O.K. Mostly you just need to hold them in place, some lateral force when the wind blows and drunks fall. If you want it to look pretty, cut a deep notch and screw with flat head galvanized (or better) screws.
