Installing Thin Stone Veneer or Faux Stone on EIFS
I am thinking of installing thin stone veneer or faux stone on our house and we currently have EIFS (most of it is sound though there are some trouble spots, especially around the windows). The guy I called to come out and take care of this recommended putting the veneer right on the EIFS. Since I have zero experience in this sort thing, is it a good idea or are we just asking for trouble? We live in the southeast, so I think moisture can be a problem. Thanks in advance!
I see that no one else wants to get involved this this either, so I will just say:
This is wrong on so many levels, it's hard to know where to start.
Where to start?
So if we wanted to change the exterior of the house, would it be better to remove the EIFS completely then do the stone? Also, based on your experience, is it better to go with thin natural stone veneer or the manufactured stuff? Thanks!
