Furnace size


is a 120,000 BTU furnace too big for a 2000 sq ft home

It might be helpful if you said where you lived and whether the btu rating was input or output.
I have a 2500 sq ft house on LI, NY with a hot water boiler with an input of 145,000. Works fine.

I suggest you head to http://www.diychatroom.com/f17/
where HVAC people can likely better advise. Sounds a bit high to me but you need to have a manual J done to best determine your heating/cooling needs.
