Fix roof boards?

This roof configuration has a real problem: with rain, the corners where the roof edges meet have gotten rotted out.

Is there a good solution for this?

I figure I can replace parts of the boards, at minimum.

Is there some gutter/drain solution that would prevent this in the future?

Re: Fix roof boards?

The drip edge doesn't look adequate. Not sure if it's how it was installed or just needs to be bigger. A little more overhang with the valley flashing would also help.

Is the rot limited to the fascia boards?

Re: Fix roof boards?

I would replace all that is need with a new drip edge in that area and extend the metal valley out over the drip edge about 1 1/2" with 1/4" bent down at the end to make a drip edge,
