Deck posts in AZ - pressure treated?

I live in Tucson, AZ and am building a deck. It will be supported by 4x4's buried in the ground. I plan on using pine 4x4's and seal them before burying them. Is this sufficient to prevent rotting, or should I be using pressure treated 4x4's? Thanks!

I would use pressure treated---not for the rot resistance but for insect resistance.

Do check your local code for required methods---In many areas deck posts must sit on top of a concrete pier---It would be bad to have to rip out your work if a code enforcer found a violation.

As Mike said, check locally. You may be under the 2006 Deck Code (no 4x4):
