cutting awning tubing?

I'm helping to deconstruct an awning system that looks (from memory) about 3/4" galv tubing.

What best to cut up long lengths of these: ONe of these or something else?:

Reciprocating saw with 18 tpi bimetal blades or 4.5" metal cutting diamond blade in an angle grinder?

Thanks!

I'm betting the problem you'll run into is keeping a tube frame still while cutting. So I'd try an angle cutter with a 4" disk first. You might go thru a few disks but that's what Harbor Freight is good for.

Will likely take the skeleton down and cut it up on the ground so it will be easier and safer.

Assuming you are cutting it up for disposal, I would think a reciprocating saw or even a jigsaw with a fine blade would do the trick. If you are intending to make nice cuts for re-use, etc. I have an old and inexpensive wooden mitre box that I use with a hack saw for helping me make square cuts in gutters, downspouts, pvc pipe, etc.

If it's round, a tubing cutter would probably work. If not I would be packing the sawzall.
The 18 TPI sounds about right.

Re: cutting awning tubing?

Thanks all for the help.

Recip with 14 tpi bimetal blade went through pretty easily considering how heavy the tubing was.
