Contract hourly rates for masonry work

I had a question for anyone from Southern California area on these forums. What would be considered a current hourly rate for masonry work.

The reason for my question is that I'm planning to contract out the demolition and concrete work for my backyard. Part of the work involves removing a section of wood fence and 3 plants (about 3 foot each in height) and replacement at the end of the project. The contractor estimated about 2 hours of labor time added the whole project. However this particular item in the bid seems very overpriced so I would be interested in hearing from any masonry contractors on this forum in Southern California (I'm located in San diego).

i'll hazard a guess the time rqd's right,,, i'd also bet the reason you think its high is because its anyone guess those plants'll live  he's including replacement,,, delete that work & see if the price's more palatable to you - diy work's ALWAYS cheaper 'cause you don't have to make a living doing ' it ' = time is free  whaddyou care how long it takes if YOU're the 1 doing it ? ? ?

as a genl rule, we don't address pricing in these rooms because its difficult watching grown men cry/knash what teef they have left/pull out their hair/dance jigs :censored::furious:

btw, care for your own plants & you can save some $$$
