cinder block

My daughter moved into dorm room this week end. Need suggestions in how to get curtain rod holder to stick on cinder block. We used those new command stickers that have the pull tab so as not to ruin wall, but they fall.

Can you use the type of curtain rod that the ends screw out and it fits by force of friction? I think they also have them with springs in the ends for hanging light weight curtains.
