Caulk or Grout next to cabinets

Im finishing backslpash in my kitchen. I left a small gap 1/8" between my cabinet and the tile. I was intenting to caulk this line however is it possible to use grout for this gap instead to give a more consistent look?

You can get colored caulking.

You can also get sanded color matched caulk to match the grout. You could put grout there but it will likely crack.

I usually place a 'light fill' of grout and then caulk with a Dow Corning translucent silicone. The caulk picks up the colour, the light grout doesn't crack, and if it does, the silicone seals anyway.

Matching caulk and grout

Some of the Home Depot PolyBlend grout have matching silicon caulk (sanded and nonsanded). Whats even better is that HD only carried the nonsanded caulk in 2 white colors so it really limited the choice my wife has to make, which also are the same colors that match the thinset so it can hide some of the mistakes I made with getting thinset in groutlines

Grout will eventually crack sooner or later, bad choice. Caulk this area. There are caulks in all colors both sanded & non sanded on the market.
