Basement/ sprayfoam/ductwork/pipes

I getting ready to finish my basement, I pulled out some of the insulation around the rim board and noticed a lot of daylight, I wanted to spay foam the rim board to seal it off, then reinstall the insulation. My Question is can i spray foam my metal ductwork to seal any leaks and insulate the duct? I know they sell duct wrap, but i should have extra foam left over with the spray foam kit. Also spray my hot and cold water lines?

yes you can, But pipe insulation is easier to use and works better. Same with insulation blankets made for the duct work. Be sure to use rigid insulation between the joists against the rim board and seal the edges with your spray foam. 10% of the homes heat loss is through this area.
