Doubtful. Most codes require headspace of at least 7'6". Floor joists are probably 2x6, depending on the span need to be at least 2x8, or 2x10. Staiway space??? Emergency exit access???

The height in the center is 10 ft there are 2 pics here one of the top and one of the bottom. There are 2x6 24 OC ceiling 2x6 16 OC for the floor that I would change to 2x10. There is a window allready in the attic that goes out onto a porch roof and the stairway access would be done by comming through a closet over the stairs that go into the basement the only thing I guess is how would this space be framed if possble to do

Attic spaces are now be considered differently per Code: http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=...1txlzU01V4JQIg

Read up on converting it to living space, then ask your local Building Department their requirements: http://books.google.com/books?as_brr...G=Search+Books

17,000 dryer fires a year, when did you last clean the inside of the dryer near motor or the exhaust ducting?
