![]() Attaching new riser faces to existing stairs - method?
Should I be using Liquid Nails? Wood Glue? Screws? 15 gauge nails?
Some combination of the above? |

If your just resurfacing the existing risers with a thin veneer, then a good construction adhesive will do. It can also bond quickly and won't leave any nail holes. If your replacing the risers then use screws and construction adhesive. No squeaks or creaks this way.

I'll be adding 3/4" hardwood on top of the treads, and 3/4" "faces" to the risers...
