Attaching girder truss to existing roof

I am using LUS26 clips to attach existing trusses to girder truss. The LUS26 are insetted under the existing trusses already and I'll have to cut the roof from the top to nail them to the girder truss. The problem is that I have like an inch gap between the girder truss to existing truss studs and will be difficult to attach them; how can I get the girder truss more flush to house? I dont want to force push it in and nail it because it might pull the existing house trusses out creating a bigger problem. Is there a way to make this work? Help please.

Pull the girder and nail another bottom cord on that side. Nail the crap out of that. cut all the other trusses to the same length.

This should be cleared by the engineer. If you clear it with the truss company, you need paper work for it.

Thank you for your reply Nealtw. I went back to see the plans and noticed that I am supposed to add a new 2x6 block behind the girder truss; is this the same thing as you were refering? Also the plans says new 2x6 block; is it suposed to be cord as you explained in your reply? I've posted pic. And finally what size nails should I use to nail them? Thank you very much.

Re: Attaching girder truss to existing roof

They have used a different language. Not sure why they use the word Drag.
I think the block is meant as a short piece to give the girder a bigger footprint on the wall
but here that would have been written like 2x10 x 2ft block.
I would call the truss company and ask for the guy that did your plans and ask him what to do. They may not want you to cut any more off the old trusses and then you would just use short blocks where needed.

Alright, thank you. I was on panic mode that I had ruined everything. I feel a lot better now and will contact the truss company for advise. Thank you.
