!8x18 shanty

My buddy and i are building a 12x18 ft shanty for fun. We just made a huge (40 yrd by 20yrd) pond and are planing building the structure next to it.. We are making 12 ft high walls with ruff cut 2x4x12. The peak will be 16 ft high with ruff cut 2x6x12 for rafters. Will 2x4x12 be strong enough to hold the rafters and roof(roof is metal) or are we better off spending the extra $110 and buy 2x6x12. they will be 8 ft ceiling with a loft taking up 6x18 ft (6 ft of open cathedral ceiling) ill have two old 4x6 barn beams running verticle to support the 6 ft beam running down the middle supporting the loft

You make no mention of rafter ties.
Is there some sort of knowlegable over site on this project or just 2 guys with hammers?
