This does not mean the pole is yours. Around here a POCO pole can be over 100' onto your property.

Your original question inquired about the installation of a switch on the pole. That is the common practice here (Oklahoma). Again, I would bet that an inquiry with the power company might yield some pleasant results.

A switch is probably beneficial to the company. You turn off the light, they use less electricity, yet you continue to pay the same monthly fee for having the light. If I were the power company, I would do it.

I do realize the pole is owned by the POCO and if I want to install my own light I will have to put up my own pole.
