xmas inflatable

I had the adapter on my xmas inflatable go bad. It is 12v 1.5 amp. The only one I have is 12v .5 amp It runs the fan and inflates . Will the lower amperage be a problem?

The labels on those adapters are telling you how much current it can safely produce without overheating, etc. Can they produce more? Sure. Will they get too hot and melt? Probably.

The real question is how much current does the fan actually use? I suspect the fan uses less than 1.5A but the manufacturer included a 1.5A adapter because they wanted some headroom for startup and/or that is what they could get cheaply. If the fan draws 1.4A, then you'll certainly toast the 0.5A adapter. If the fan draws 0.6A, then you might be OK. Is there a label on the fan?

Yes !
It will be a problem.
You are overloading.
Your .5A supply.
It will burn out !
Get the correct supply.
