Wiring gangbox

Hello,

I need to wire a GFI on its own 20amp breaker..

I was wondering if I can pull the "New 12/2" wire... through the existing gfi box through the same 1/2" Hole..

Kinda like just passing through the existing gang box in order to wire my new outlet.

and be able to meet Code.

this is an outdoor waterproof box..

like in the picture.. the Yellow wire will be going to the other outlet..

can both wires come through the same hole like that?

Also:

if the Sub panel and Box that I use is waterproof.. do I need to use weather proof wire too or can I use standard 12/2 wire... everythings going to be sealed !

thank you

The yellow cable looks like type NM-B cable which is for use inside only. You would need to use something like UF cable outdoors.

The coonector on the left side of the pic looks to be a male adapter for PVC pipe. It is not for use with cables. There are connectors made for type UF cable that have a sealing gland.

Since you would not need to splice anything in the box there is no reason to run thru it. You also add to the conductor fill by passing thru, which may mean you need a larger box.

Thanks Jim,

I saw what your talking about... the Connectors with the rubber O-Rings..

OK....

I'd like to place this box less than a foot below my sub panel,

Do I even need to use a Conduit of some kind or can I just use Cable clamp connectors..
