Weatherhead - Periscope

May I attach a brace to retain the Electrical Cable Entrance Periscope when tree branches fall on the entrance cable?
I would like to attach a steel cable near the top of the Periscope, just under the weather head and anchor the other end to roof trusses.

Yes you can, in fact it is required in some cases.
I think you may need 2 guy wires instead of 1.
