Question

waching machine electro valve - will it overheat?

First of all..sorry bout my bad english...

Im doing rain barrel watering system in my garden. And i need something that will open water flow exactly same time every day.

Is it good idea to use electromechanical valve from my old washing machine for that automated valve purpose?
It is 220V (Europe) EM valve... That I will connect directly in 220V outlet with timer.

I need it in 20-30min intervals 3 times a day.

Someone told me it will overheat if it is that long on.

And whats with that washing machine water pump... will it burn out if i connect it too for 20mins of pumping?

Thanks

Water pump should be no problem, it's operated by the motor that runs for a complete wash cycle. I believe the valves should be OK as long as there is water flow. You should add a low water senser to prevent it from running if there is no water.

That sounds like a try it and see kind of thing. Just be careful with the finger test. I've had the texas instruments logo branded into my fingertips more than once.
