Trouble replacing a switch / outlet receptacle.

Help, I am replacing a switch/socket receptacle that broke. Old switch/socket had three terminals, new four. Of the four incoming wires only one combination of two wires show power together. I have tried several different wiring patterns, most blow the fuse, one pattern will give a hot socket and light on, no matter switch position. Thought this would be an easy swap, not so far.

Does it look like this?

Hot goes on brass term feed from switch gooes to term opposite, should be brass or black color.
Neutral goes on silver color on same side as ground up by outlet area.
