Tripping Breaker

Hi,

There is a breaker in my panel (breaker #7) that trips occasionally. Strangely it trips when an "event" occurs on a different circuit. For example I was using a chop saw on circuit 20. The saw kicked back and tripped the breaker on circuit 7. This has occurred a few times.

Lately we've had a contractor here doing some work. His tools are plugged into another circuit (24 I think). Thrice over the last week the breaker for circuit 7 has tripped while he was working.

Is it possible that a surge on one circuit could cause the breaker on another circuit to trip? Should I have the wiring checked out?

Is it a gfic breaker? Is breaker #7 close to full current draw? A stalled motor will cause a high current / low voltage situation.
