Timer Installation
 

I just purchased a new timer for the jets in our jetted bathtub.

The Old Timer is hooked up simply (and obviously):

black -> brass / white -> silver

The new timer has 4 wires coming out of it (Red, White, Black, Green).
I've wired:

Black (Timer) -> Black (Box)
Green (Timer) -> Ground (box)

Now i'm stuck as to what to hook up.... any help?

What are the specs on your old timer and the specs on the new one.

It sounds like your old one may be 120V and the new one is a 240V/120V timer.

You will need to give us more information on the timers to best answer your question

Why don't you look at the directions that came with the timer. There will be a wiring diagram in it, or on the box. If you bought it from the tub manufacturer you may need to call them or go to their web site for a manual.
You do not have the correct timer for your tub. Unless the red and black go together.

PS.....Do you have a meter. If so we can help.

My first guess..

Black to power

White to neutral (always)

Red to jet pump

Green to box

Some digital timers need the neutral, the old mechanical types didn't nor do the very low power ones.
