Timer Installation
I just purchased a new timer for the jets in our jetted bathtub.
The Old Timer is hooked up simply (and obviously): black -> brass / white -> silver The new timer has 4 wires coming out of it (Red, White, Black, Green). I've wired: Black (Timer) -> Black (Box) Green (Timer) -> Ground (box) Now i'm stuck as to what to hook up.... any help? |
What are the specs on your old timer and the specs on the new one.
It sounds like your old one may be 120V and the new one is a 240V/120V timer. You will need to give us more information on the timers to best answer your question |
Why don't you look at the directions that came with the timer. There will be a wiring diagram in it, or on the box. If you bought it from the tub manufacturer you may need to call them or go to their web site for a manual.
You do not have the correct timer for your tub. Unless the red and black go together. PS.....Do you have a meter. If so we can help. |
My first guess..
Black to power White to neutral (always) Red to jet pump Green to box -pete  Some digital timers need the neutral, the old mechanical types didn't nor do the very low power ones. |
