I am trying to install a new thermostat, the colored wires are not labeled as they should be from the wall. I have a white, red, blue and yellow wire. I have a gas heating system and an A/C unit. Can anyone tell me which of the wires go to which of the following letters on the thermostat itself?
Rh (filled with a wire with a red tab and connected to the Rc)
White is for the HEATING circuit
Yellow is for the COOLING circuit
Red is 24 VAC power
Blue is the 24 VAC Common/Neutral/Return
Green is for the FAN circuit
Good rule of thumb is to connect the G to the RC (while removing the 'jumper' to RH) This way, the COOLING circuit CANNOT be energized without the FAN circuit being ON first. (R can go to RH without the 'jumper' to RC on it.)
