Question

Switch Plates

Are there switch plates that extend out from the wall? More like a box? (I havenít found any) I have installed a light switch timer, and canít seem to fit all the wires and the switch into the electrical box so that it is flush with the wall.
Any ideas? Thanks

How many cables/wires are entering the box? You may have to remove the old box and replace it with a deeper "old work" box to accommodate the wiring and the bulky dimmer.

They do make extenders but that won't look to good because you will have the same problem. I agree with Jupe, I would pull the box and replace with a deeper cut in box to hold all the wires.

Can you use one of these. Not pretty, but will extend your box out 1.5 inches.
