I am preparing to install recessed lighting on a new circuit in my living room. The room has an exterior entryway plus two interior doorways. Currently, the exterior entryway has a rocker switch controlling a 15A receptacle (with a table lamp plugged in).
Does code require that I install switches to control the recessed lighting at all three entry points, since a switched outlet is already present by the exterior entryway door? I have a low-slope attic and penetrating the top plate of the exterior wall from the attic is very difficult, so I'd rather not deal with installing switches on that wall if I can avoid it (plus it saves me the cost of a third lighting . The other two entryways are near the center of the attic, so there's plenty of headroom to work there.
