switch box and cover plate

After not being able to find locally a single gang box of 22.5 cu in. at the big box stores, looks like I will have to us a 25 cu in. 2 gang box which I can do but I can't find a 2 gang brass cover plate that is toggle switch (or outlet) on one side and blank on the other. Does anyone have a source for the above described brass cover plate?

Gonna be a tough one to find. Brass is out of style and consequently, the selection of parts isn't what it once was. That can even be tough to find in plastic. Can you put a mud ring on and patch the wall? You can use a single gang mud ring on a double box.

Don't know what color brass you are looking for, but here are a couple of choices.

Easier to find than I thought. Still would use the mudring if there's only one device in the box. It always looks like a mistake or something's been messed with where there's a half blank plate. Just my opinion.

Most mudrings are for 4x4 boxes, not 2 gangs. Might have to drill some holes.

But how about a 30 cu in single gang.

You can even get a single gang mud ring for plastic boxes:

You should have just used a 4" sq. box with a single gang mud ring...

switch box and cover plate

ooops! Forgot important fact. I'm trying to use an old work type box without having to open up a much larger hole. Because of the age of the paint, I'd probably have to paint the entire room.
Thanks for all the help and comments. Now I also know that the strange looking cover is called a "mud ring". Yes, I had checked the two sources as posted, but no luck there.
I appreciate all.

Open up the back side of the room.
