Recessed light --> Ceiling Fan??

Hi all and thanks for advice...

I have moderate experience with electrical; I know how to add a ceiling fan to preexsisting hole/wiring, or cut a new hole and run new wires to a switch / install new switch etc..

- Im in a nice rental house and have recessed lights.. Please correct me if Im overlooking anything but I believe I can just remove the recessed light bulb, remove the "cup" housing, add in a support bracket for a fan (obtain at home depot), just use those wires to power a fan.. Since I dont want to run new wires to the switch Ill just use that one switch as the "main on and off" switch for both light and fan.... then just use pull chains or a remote to adjust accordingly.

Any thing missed? Any tips or tricks to give me?
THANKS ALL!!

Since this is a rental you have no rights to make any changes. Perhaps you can work out a deal with the landlord.

unless its in the lease that changes are allowed, as long as they remain upon vacating. Ive rented placed many years ago that allowed me to make (approved) changes, as long as they remain when i leave.
