Panel Question

When wiring into your panel, If you know that you have an empty slot for a breaker, How do you know if you have room on your 100 or 200 amp service for the addition of another breaker?

Each panel is rated for a certain number of circuits
A lot of 200a panels are rated for 40 or 44 (?) circuits

Usually if you have an open space you have room for another circuit
Unless you have used a lot of tandem breakers

Majorty of panels will list the numbers of circuits it don't matter if you have little 6 space subpanel or monster main 42 space panel {I know canada verison can go alot more but in USA I do not know which states will allow more than 42 from single panel }

Most of 200'ers I ran into typically will come in one of three most common size .,, 20 ,30 ,40 some case 30/40 will show up the 30/40 mean 30 full sized space breakers and can allowed up to 10 tandaem breakers.

Dave let you know per modern NEC code we are limited to 42 circuits max.
