Panasonic Vent Fan Nightlight Wiring?

I'm retrofitting a Panasonic Whisper fan/light in my bathroom ceiling.

I have two existing wall switches for the fan and 10W LED light circuits, but I'm wondering how best to handle the 1W LED nightlight. I'm going to pull another wire for the nightlight and intend to have it always ON. But to be to code must I add another wall switch just for the nightlight or can it be controlled just by the breaker?

Thanks for any advice.

No switch required, leaving on is fine.

Re: Panasonic Vent Fan Nightlight Wiring?

Hey guys, followup question on adding an additional wire for my nightlight.

Currently the fan/light is wired with Romex 14/3. If I need one additional conductor should I pull just a single 14g wire or is best practice to pull another Romex (14/2). Run is about 8'.

Thanks.

You cannot pull one additional wire. You need another 14/2.

I have installed several Panasonic fans. I have used 14/4 Romex, 14/4 BX, or flexible metal conduit to provide the power. In a pinch I have also used 14/2-2 Romex and relabeled the white/red conductor with blue tape. You cannot install a single conductor unless it is in a conduit. Some people install an extra 14/2 cable and just use one conductor.

Okay thanks! I'll use the old 14/3 to pull a new Romex 14/4 and that simplifies everything.
