Outdoor/fence lighting solutions

Currently remodelling a house in Nigeria which has a precast concrete fence as opposed to one made of hollow blocks. The fence doesn't have any pre-installed wiring for lighting so we want to install outdoor fence lights around the garden. However it'll be very difficult to install conduit wiring inside the walls. An alternative idea would be to run surface wiring, but from an aesthetics point of view, we're against that.

Any other ideas?

Only cable I can think of which would be unobtrusive is mineral-insulated cable. It would be surface wiring, but for your needs it would be smaller than a pencil. You would need to find an electrician who knows how to work with that type of cable, it's not for everyday installers.

Cheers,
Brian

The OP (opj) wants "to install outdoor fence lights around the garden" in Nigeria.

It has not been stated whether these lights are to be for decorative or security purposes!

Nigeria uses 230 V 50 Hz and "British" standard BS 1363 (IEC Type G) [or the older BS 546 (IEC Type D)] Socket Outlets and Plugs.

If the purpose of these lights is simply to be decorative, then ELV (Extra Low Voltage) wiring can be used and buried in the garden, under paths etc. to feed LED lamps, with the supply derived from a suitable "plug in" (iron cored or electronic) transformer within the premises concerned.
For this purpose, 2.2 mm≤ CSA (14 AWG) or 3.3 mm≤ CSA (15 AWG) "Garden Lighting Cable" is often used, with suitable connectors.

However, if brighter lighting for security purposes is required, the OP would be well advised to consult a specialist security company in Nigeria for proper advice and installation.

Correction to Post #4 : -
"For this purpose, 2.2 mm≤ CSA (14 AWG) or 3.3 mm≤ CSA (12 AWG) "Garden Lighting Cable" is often used, with suitable connectors."
