metal plated light switch

Recently swapped out 3 way light switch for metal plated switches. To test that I didn't pinch/damage any of the wires while installing them and make the switch live, I used a neon screwdriver voltage tester. Whilst touching the tester against the switch the neon bulb flickered briefly, retried nothing went to another switch same thing happend. The switches are earthed and are working and the tester worked fine locating the live wires in the circuit. Do i have anything to worry about.

you might just be reading power from the power wire going to switch, metal cover could just be magnifying this enough for your meter to pick it up

Try the same test with the plastic plate.
The screws of the plate are grounded, it the switch is grounded.
If the switch is not grounded, I would not use a metal plate.
