When you say tripp switch, do you mean breaker?

You have an intermintent short on that circuit.
Check the wires on the switch, and at the light fixture.

If the switch innards are quite worn and don't click off fast, and if there is a considerable load on the circuit then a noisy spark will occur in the switch as it is turned off and a breaker equipped with an arc fault interrupter will trip.

Light switches DO fail. How old do you think is that switch? Does the sound come from the switch, itself? I suggest replacement.
