Kohler whirlpool installation bypass air switch

My contractor installed a kohler whirlpool for me that can only be turn on by a switch on the wall (like a light switch). Would this installation cause any problem in the future? (for now, it is just a little inconvenient because one can't turn off the jets until get out of the pool? ). Kohler support told me that this installation will void the warranty on the product.

Is it easy to fix it and revert back to standard installation, probably do it myself?

There was a time where those were required to be controlled by a timer switch, to prevent one from staying too long in the tub. You had to get out of the tub to reset the timer.

But those were not supposed to replace the built-in air switch, only supplement it. Keep the wall switch (replace it with a 15 minute timer if you like), but reconnect the air switch.

Life is uncertain -- eat dessert first!!
