Junction Box Question

I'm Installing lights in my basement to an existing switch. The junction box in the ceiling has the following:

1- 12/2 wire coming from the switch.
1- 12-2 wire going to the light.
1- 12/2 Power lead.

How would I connect this? Would I connect all three Hot, Nuetral, and ground wires together seperately? That doesn't seem like that would work. If I were to do that wouldn't there be power to the lights without first flowing through the switch?

Take the black from the power feed and connect it to the white of the switch wire. Make sure you tape or paint the white wire black.
The black from the switch wire connectes to the black of the light wire, and the white from the power feed connets to the white of the light wire.
All grounds connect together.

White of incoming power to white of light. Black of incoming to white (taped or recoded black, both ends) of switch. Black of switch to black of light. Connect all of the grounds together.
