A guy at home depot suggested I use Aluminum #6 Service entrance cable to feed my subpanel. It's quite a bit cheaper than #6 copper.

Is this recommended?

The #6Al SEU will only be good to 40A. If you want a 60A subpanel, use #6Cu or #4Al.

How do I know which aluminum column to use for that cable? I think it was labled 6-6-6-6.
