I dunno but good question. Id imagine since they are IC that it wouldnt be an issue. However, thats just a common sense assumption and often times you know what it happens when you assume.
It should be fine, but they do make a can for 2" x 6" height joist HALO or ELCO makes one, I think I would go for one of these just to be on the safe side. I assume your floor joist are smaller than 2" x 10" or 2" x 8"?
The joist are 2 x8 but the house is 40 years old and they have basically shrunk to about 7 1/4. The can is 7” high so it's just a little close. There is no insulation. And the can is rated for insulation contact.
I just bought a 6" Juno (I think) can from my local electrical supplier that is I.C. rated, and meant for 2x6 joists (5 3/4" tall). They have it in both remodel and new construction:
